In Pakistan,DISCOS incur huge cost to repair or replace burnt out distribution transformers (DT) due to lack of visibility on critical parameters of its operation, which result in huge cash outflow and lost revenue owing to down time. All the DISCOs have the capacity to determine AT&C losses at grid level which provides real-time grid profiles but they don’t have the visibility down the line at DT level which makes it difficult to locate. and control commercial losses (theft of electricity).Owing to unplanned load expansion especially in urban areas, DTs are mostly subject to overloading and phase imbalance which results in frequent burnouts.

The PROPOSED SOLUTION to these problem is – ASSET PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (APMS).

This system can improve visibility of key DTs and closely monitors performance and take preventive actions before potential transformer failures. This Product is manufactured by Creative Electronics Pvt. Ltd. to enhance DISCOs operations as part of the work implemented under the Sustainable Energy for Pakistan (SEP) Project funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
